AGE UK Shopping Guidance

AGE UK have made it easier for older people to get food without having to leave their homes. Many of you told us you were struggling because you couldn’t go to the supermarket, and for a lot of people a busy shopping environment still feels impossible. So Age UK campaigned for there to be an increase in home deliveries and offline options - and we won!

By sharing your experiences and working alongside other charities, we persuaded the Government and supermarkets to provide thousands more protected delivery slots for older people. They’ve also set up a Local Authority scheme helping people to get a supermarket delivery, a food box or support from a local voluntary organisation.

I’m delighted to say that Age UK is now also part of this scheme and can refer people through our advice line for special delivery slots, or support them to find a local Age UK to help.

If you or anyone you know needs help, please call our free advice line on 0800 169 6565 or read our shopping guidance.
